My big, free upgrade for you

This is the last version of my newsletter in its current incarnation, as Right Side Up. It soon will have a new name, a new platform and a new publishing schedule. Beginning in mid-July, I will be publishing as The Overwhelmed Yogi on Substack. Every week, you can expect to see a post from me with three brief sections:

-- An anecdote. A tidbit or lesson I experienced or observed involving yoga off the mat.
-- An exercise. A video with a movement break or nervous system regulation exercise, something quick to help you feel better in the midst of your busiest days.
-- An inspiration. Something that I read or heard that inspired me.

Anecdote, exercise, inspiration. A, E, I. It is an offering from my heart during these dark and frightening times.

An important note about my mom's meditation recordings: I am beyond grateful to my friend
Victoria Marin, who took a yoga immersion course with my mom and me in the summer of 2015. She has done sound editing on a playlist of my mom's meditations to eliminate the distracting background nosies. This playlist will be available to new and existing subscribers of The Overwhelmed Yogi. I hope you love it as much as I do.

If you aren't familiar with Substack, it is an interactive platform. My newsletters will be published on my Substack page, where you can comment and connect with other subscribers. I am excited to hear more from you in this way. I will also keep posting my newsletters here on my own website, where the Right Side Up archives will remain. While waiting for my Substack page to launch, check out Victoria's! She writes a thoughtful column on parenting and caregiving called Feast or Famine

Thank you for being with me on this journey. 💕🙏

Love,
Sara

Moving through the summer heat

Here are five movement breaks I'm loving right now... and five more. In just a minute or two each, these will open your shoulders, back, sides and hips and challenge your balance. But also: The (supposedly) slower pace of summer is a reminder to take rest when you need to.
